Jarvis was homeless when he first came to the Friary but is now in stable accommodation. He talks of his experiences and how the Friary has helped him into recovery:
‘My bubble burst, the whole structure and stability I had just disappeared into thin air and I found myself like the nowhere man. And I didn’t know what to do, I was sofa surfing and making bad friends. And somebody mentioned the Friary to me, and I found it, and it was like a sanctuary. Some humanity came back and it got me to a position where I’ve got a nice home now. And I’m rebuilding everything now and I can see a sort of light at the end. It was just the kindness that I thought never existed again. It’s like a helping hand and it’s given me the confidence to carry on’
