Harvest assembly

It’s always lovely to come together as a whole school, and our annual Harvest assembly on Tuesday was an especially delightful occasion.  Our VIP visitor was Helen Jones, Marketing & Communications Officer for The Friary, West Bridgford.

Together, we were reminded of the care and assistance which The Friary offers to the homeless of Nottingham.  And together, we paused to think carefully about how lucky we all are not to worry about hunger or shelter.  Helen was thrilled to receive so many food and drink donations from our school community, and joins us in thanking everyone for their contributions.  She would also like to acknowledge the generosity of last year’s Year 4 parents who collectively donated over £200 at the retiring collection for ‘Star Warts’.  Well done to Naemmah from 5C who presented Helen with our cheque, and thank you to Huda, Simar and Misha from Year 6 for compiling such interesting questions to ask our visitor.

Helen from the Friary : ” Thank you to everyone who donated food items & toiletries for the homeless.  We are grateful for the fundraising too. Thank you also for the warm welcome to your school and the helpful act of kindness loading all the donations into the Friary van. Brilliant work everyone, thank you.”
