Volunteer at the Friary

There are a number of volunteering opportunities, at the Friary. We’re proud to have been awarded the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service.

Are you able to offer 2 hours of your time each month?
Are you able to work flexibly if needed?
Do you have skills in the following areas?
Or do you want to try out something new?

Allotment work
Receiving / sorting clothes & items at our depot
Van driving / driver’s mate
Preparing food parcels
Serving drinks to the homeless
Administration skills
Helping at our off-site fundraising sales

Please download and complete a copy of our Volunteer Application Form. Contact us for more information using the link below.

Please note that due COVID-19, we have made the decision not accept applications at this time. Whilst we are still supporting visitors to the centre, this is being done in a covid-secure way. Increases in the number of volunteers would not be appropriate at this time.

A copy of our volunteers handbook can be found here.

Corporate support and fundraising

Go one step further as an organisation or an individual.

Are you an employee? Might your employer  support this local charity by sending volunteers, fundraising or offering services? Maybe the company you work for is looking for a Charity of the Year to support or has access to a Charitable Trust? Perhaps you run your own business and wish to support a local charity but haven’t much time to invest in doing so? We can help.

If your employer offers “matched-funding” and you want to help boost funds for the Friary then please contact us. There are many ways local businesses can support us without taking up too much time! We have experience in enabling help.

If you as an individual or organisation wish to organise a fundraiser on our behalf, do get in touch with our office and we will support you as best we can. We have benefitted from some great initiatives and know from experience that people are motivated to raise money by doing what they enjoy!
